Large stretch of I-65 was shut down due to icy conditions

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – A large stretch of Interstate 65, south of Indianapolis, was shut down on Tuesday morning because of icy conditions, snow and a number of crashes on the roadway.

The Indiana Department of Transportation reported around 9:30 a.m. that all northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 65 were closed between Exit 16 at Memphis and Exit 76 at Taylorsville.

Northbound and southbound lanes of I-65 have reopened, but motorists are advised to reduce speed according to conditions and anticipate delays.

There was also a crash on I-65 involving a double-trailer truck near Jonesville.
