Delphi’s chief of police is resigning

Delphi Mayor Randy Strasser said the city’s police chief is resigning and will lead a new non-profit organization this February.

Strasser said Chief of Police John Chapman’s resignation is effective Feb. 5. He said Chapman is leaving to become Director of a non-profit group called “The Bridge” that aims to provide mentoring and counseling for young people.

Chapman has been chief of police in Delphi since 2010.
