LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Winter weather is causing many area schools to go on two-hour delays. This has resulted in many working parents to be late to their jobs.

The Lafayette YMCA may have the solution for those parents. You can enroll your kids in the School-Age Care Program.

This program allows parents to drop their kids off at the YMCA as early as 6 a.m. They will then transport the kids to their school, so parents can be at work on time.

Operations Director Sharon Thompson said this program is perfect for working parents.

“We have over 100 different children that are utilizing the program that we get to school on time. We do our best. We have four buses we use. All of our staff are certified in getting those get to school,” Thompson said.

Thompson said they have activities planned every morning for kids during a delay. If you would like to enroll your child in the program, contact the Lafayette YMCA.
