INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Police arrested three people after two robberies and a chase on Tuesday afternoon.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department dispatchers say an EB Games on E. Washington Street was robbed. IMPD officers say a tobacco shop at Brookville Road and English Avenue was robbed an hour later.

Police say a Cumberland police officer spotted the SUV matching the description of the car involved in the robberies. When police attempted to pull the car over near Interstate 70 east and Post Road, a chase ensued.

The chase crossed county lines into Hancock County. About a mile later, the car slowed down and a passenger got out of the car and started to run. An IMPD officer fired his weapon. Police were able to catch up to the individual and take that person into custody.

The car chase continued on I-70 east. Police put down stop sticks in an effort to get the car to stop. The driver swerved to avoid them and flipped the SUV at State Road 9, which is the Greenfield exit.

Police said two people were inside the SUV. Both were taken to Sydney & Lois Eskenazi Health.

Indiana State Police, Cumberland Police Department  and Greenfield Police Department all assisted in the chase.
