INDIANAPOLIS (WLFI) – The Indiana Youth Institute is hosting training sessions across Indiana for those who work with children.
IYI officials said nationally renowned trainers will present five workshops across six cities in the state to help those who work with children fine tune mentoring practices, succeed with difficult students, prevent dropouts and write better grant proposals.
Institute officials said these events are designed for youth workers, teachers, youth ministers, family service providers and others who work directly with children.
The event has half-day and full-day options available. The cost is $20 to attend one session or $40 for the whole day. Attendees can choose between two different workshops for the morning session and three workshops for the afternoon session.
The morning sessions will run from 9 a.m. to noon local time. Those sessions include “When Consequences Don’t Work: Succeeding with Difficult Students” and “Indiana Quality Mentoring Standards: A Readiness Workshop for Program Participation.”
The afternoon trainings run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. with topics on the docket as “Their Money, Their Rules: What You Need to Prepare a Successful Grant Proposal,” “Holding Back the Tide of Dropouts” and “Indiana Quality Mentoring Standards: A Strategy Workshop for Program Implementation.”
