Slick roads lead to multiple morning slide-offs

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Multiple slide-offs occurred in the viewing area Saturday morning, all with no injuries.

The Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s office reported  34 slide-offs and nine accidents as of 11:00 a.m., the most of any county in our area. Several more slide-offs were reported in Tippecanoe County, but did not need assistance from the sheriff’s department.

As of 11 a.m. Saturday, the White County Sheriff’s office said they have responded to a combination of 12 slide-offs and crashes from overnight to this morning.

The Clinton County Sheriff’s office was unable to give an exact number, but said they responded to several slide-offs this morning.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s office reported three slide-offs, and the Carroll County Sheriff’s office reported four slide-offs.

Information from other counties was unavailable.

West Lafayette Police released an alert Saturday morning asking drivers to avoid unnecessary travel until temperatures rise later today.
