CARROLL CO., Ind. (WLFI) – A Carroll County mobile home is a total loss after catching fire Sunday afternoon.

Monticello Fire department responded to the fire at 11891 W. Woodbine Drive after 3 p.m.  Idaville and Reynolds Fire departments provided mutual aid.

Monticello assistant fire chief Robert  Hickman said the building has been unoccupied for more than a decade.

He says there were no utilities in the building leading him to believe the fire was started either accidentally or purposefully by someone.

“Obviously this fire took the act of a human being to start. Whether it was accidental or intentional, someone had to start this fire,” said Hickman.

The Carroll County sheriff’s office is investigating the cause of blaze.
