Single vehicle accident claims life in Vermillion County

VERMILLION CO., Ind. (WTHI) – On Saturday at 3:30 a.m., the Vermillion County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle accident on County Road 1300.

Officials state the 911 call advised the accident was just west of 1250 South and that the vehicle was on fire with someone trapped inside. Emergency responders arrived to find the vehicle completely engulfed.

A female was transported to Union Hospital in Clinton for treatment while an unidentified person in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The accident is currently under investigation.
