TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI)- The roads in some Tippecanoe County subdivisions have residents wondering why they haven’t been cleared.
Highway Department Director Opal Kuhl said Saturday’s rain melted snow and ice and washed it into the streets. Since a lot of the sewers are frozen, some of the mess stayed in the streets and froze over.
Kuhl said plows take care of the main roads first, then go to the subdivisions. However, the constant snow and freezing temperatures have kept plows busy on the main roads longer.
She said to let the department know if you see a problem in your subdivision.
“If people contact us we still try to get back in the subdivisions and do them a second time,” Kuhl said. “Especially if there is a problem in that subdivision.”
