One killed in Indy shooting Monday night

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – IMPD officials say a person was shot and killed Monday night on the city’s near northeast side.

It happened just after 10 p.m. in the 10000 block of John Marshal Dive, which is near East 38th Street and North Mitthoeffer Road. Police were called to the scene on the report of shots fired.

When officers were searching the area they discovered an unidentified man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. EMS officials arrived shortly after and pronounced the man dead.

Police say witnesses stated seeing two men running southwest from the location of the victim.
