CASS CO., Ind. (WLFI) – An ice jam on the Wabash River had some residents forced to evacuate earlier Wednesday.
An ice jam on the Wabash River, just west of Logansport, was reported. It raised the river 8-feet, leaving some residents forced to evacuate due to flooding concerns.
News 18 spoke with Cass County EMA Director Alvin Beckman who said it is back to normal now. He said the ice chunk is headed towards Carroll and Tippecanoe counties.
News 18 contacted EMA directors in those counties. EMA Director Dana Jeffries said this is not a problem in Carroll County. EMA Director Smokey Anderson said he does not expect it to cause any problems for Tippecanoe County.
