WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI)- Senator Ron Alting (R-22)  joined representatives Sheila Klinker (D-27), Don Lehe (R-25) and Tim Brown (R-41) at the League of Women Voters Legislative Breakfast in West Lafayette Saturday morning.

The group wrote down questions for the legislators. Most questions were answered during the hour long event.

The first two topics are the ones making the headlines during the 2014 General Assembly, the possible elimination of business personal property tax and House Joint Resolution 3.

League President Patsy Hoyer said she was expecting about 35 people at the breakfast, but the hot topics brought more than double that amount.

“I think we were surprised particularly with the bad weather,” Hoyer said. “It was hard to get up [Saturday] morning. I do think there are a lot of hot topics and a lot of concerns. So, people want to stay in touch with our legislators.”

Hoyer said the breakfast is a yearly event. For more on the League of Women Voters click here. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
