Man in critical condition after morning shooting

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – One man is in critical condition after taking a gunshot to his chest in Lafayette early Sunday morning.

According to the Lafayette Police Department, emergency personnel responded to the 1300 block of S. 28th Street after receiving calls about a a man knocking on doors saying he had been shot after 4 a.m.

The victim was transported by ambulance to Franciscan St. Elizabeth East hospital. Officers located two subjects near the scene and a semi-automatic firearm. Police say the shooting occurred nearby on the the 1300 block of Parkway Court.
