GREATER LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Mail carriers hit the streets everyday to deliver letters and package to our doors but some carriers are finding it difficult to get there.

Lafayette Postmaster Larry Chandler is reminding people to clear sidewalks and doorsteps, so carriers have a clear and safe path. He said snow and ice also slows down deliveries and employees have reported injuries after falls.

Chandler said their goal is to deliver 100 percent of the mail. But if carriers do not have direct access to mailboxes, some deliveries may have to wait.
