Propane still in short supply

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind (WLFI) – Propane needed to heat homes around the state continues to be in short supply.

A Purdue Extension website aims to show people how to conserve energy and reduce propane use.
Purdue Agriculture Professor Al Heber said things like uninsulated water heaters and leaky windows and doors can increase utility bills. Heber said the site shows simple ways consumers can make their homes energy efficient.

“If they would turn down thermostat down one degree for eight hours at night, they would save one percent on their heating bill for the year. If you turn it down ten degrees for eight hours at night, that’s a ten percent savings,” Heber said.
