Arrest made in murder of musician, pizza delivery driver

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officials said an arrest has been made in the murder of Daniel Jaffke.

Thirty-year-old Jaffke was shot to death while delivering pizza in a south side neighborhood on Jan. 31. He was also a local musician.

According to IMPD, on Thursday detectives arrested 27-year-old Shawn Wilson for his involvement in Jaffke’s murder. Wilson was tracked to a home in the 3200 block of Byrkit Street, where he initially refused to surrender. After a short time he surrendered to authorities.

Wilson has been preliminarily charged with murder, robbery and carrying a handgun without a license. He will be taken to police headquarters for questioning and then to the Arrestee Processing Center.

Our sister station, WISH-TV, spoke with Jaffke’s sister after she learned of Wilson’s arrest.

“We have mixed emotions,” she said.
