INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Robbers targeted another pizza delivery driver in Indianapolis.

An IMPD report says the man told officers he was delivering an order to the 6600 block of East 46th Street when a man answered the door and pointed a gun at him.

The Pizza Hut driver says he tried to get away but the robber fired the gun at him. He gave the man his tip money and his cell phone.

The driver says he then turned to see a second robber stealing pizza out of his delivery car. He was not hurt.

Two other delivery drivers were shot and killed earlier this month.

At that time, a Pizza Hut spokesperson said it called all of its locations to stress the importance of staying safe.

“We’ve coached every store – every employee on driver safety and different steps we can take internally to make sure our number one priority is the safety of our team members,” said James Hines, Pizza Hut spokesperson.

Pizza Hut workers are urged to lock the car door and make sure they carry no more than $20.

You can also help keep them safe by turning on your lights and giving a valid phone number so they can confirm the delivery.
