PAW PAW, Mich. (WOOD) — Six people were hurt in a pileup in Van Buren County that involved about 40 vehicles — about half of which were semi trucks.

I-94 was shut down in both directions between mile marker 52 and mile marker 60, which is the Paw Paw exit.

Six people were injured in the pileup, which occurred in the eastbound lanes.

The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office estimates about 40 vehicles were involved in the crash. About 20 of those are semi-trucks.

The sheriff’s office said the pileup won’t be cleared until after midnight.
