BATTLE GROUND, Ind. (WLFI) – Wolf Park will soon have a new animal care center on-site thanks to a $200,000 donation.

Wednesday the park announced that preliminary plans are in place to build the Allison Franklin Animal Care Center.

The two- story center will provide animal surgeries on-site, have more space for puppy rearing and will feature indoor and outdoor recovery areas.

Donor Ed Franklin has pledge to cover up to $200,000 for the project.

Franklin says he decided to give the donation as a way to honor his late-wife Allison.

“We just liked it and my wife was very fond of the place. She passed away last year. I though this would be a nice memorial for her to have something like this in Wolf Park,” said Franklin.

The park will break ground on the animal care center late this summer or early fall, with completion expected by December.
