Youth summit call out for middle schoolers

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Middle school students in the community are invited to attend a youth summit to help build skills essential in growing to adulthood.

A Purdue mentoring program called Emerging Young Leaders, hosted by the Chi Phi Omega chapter, is offering a community youth summit for boys and girls in sixth through eighth grades. The event will focus on character building, leadership skills and planning for college.

The summit will take place on March 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Hanna Community Center, 1201 N. 18th St., in Lafayette. Organizers say a light breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Registration is free, but must be done before the deadline of Feb. 28.
