I-65 southbound lanes are back open after semi overturns

CLINTON COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – The southbound lanes of Interstate 65 are back open in Clinton County just north of Frankfort.

Indiana State Police say it happened around 7 p.m. in the southbound lanes at mile marker 160. That’s about two miles north of the State Road 28 exit in Clinton County.

The National Weather Service reported that the semi overturned because of the winds. State police on the scene said the truck was leaking natural gas.

Troopers say traffic was backed up for at least 8 miles. Around 10:30 p.m., the scene was clear and the southbound lanes re-opened.

News 18 was still receiving reports of a back-up at 11:15 p.m. Troopers said it usually takes awhile for the backed up vehicles to get moving.
