LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A few Purdue Football players took time out of their day to spend some time at the Boys and Girls Club in Lafayette.

More than 60 children got the chance to meet eight members of the football team and ask a few questions.

The players and kids were teamed up for a relay race, before squaring off in a game of dodgeball.

The kids were able to knock out redshirt sophomore Robert Kugler a few times. Kugler said the team is making an effort to do more in the community.

“We’re here just reaching out to the community. We plan to be doing a lot more of this stuff. I’ve been here before, when they opened up, with a bunch of guys. It’s a really good thing that they do here with these kids,” said Kugler.

Kugler said the team feels like it hasn’t done enough to help the community.
