Pet killed in Lafayette apartment fire

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A pet was killed and residents displaced after a fire in Lafayette.

It happened around 7 p.m. Monday at an apartment complex on Ravenwood Court near Beck Lane and Old U.S. 231 on the city’s south side.

Firefighters said it started in an apartment on the second floor. The fire was extinguished in ten minutes.

One pet died in the fire while another one was rescued. No people were injured.

Crews say around 50 percent of the apartment was damaged, including parts of the kitchen and living room. An apartment downstairs had some water damage.
