Carroll Co. hog barn damaged in fire

CARROLL CO., Ind. (WLFI) – A Carroll County hog barn has major damage after a fire Wednesday afternoon.

Buck Creek, Cutler, Democrat Township, Flora, and Rossville Fire Departments responded to the fire around 4:30 p.m. Crews arrived to find the barn near the intersection of Prince William Road and 650 South engulfed.

According to Democrat Township Fire Chief Cody Miller, there were hogs in three-quarters of the barn. It’s unclear how many died as a result of the incident.

Miller said the cause of the fire is unknown at this time, but a heating unit could have been a factor.
