LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A man accused of helping a Warren County inmate after he escaped last fall has been arrested in Lafayette.

In October 2013, Gary Connor escaped from the Warren County Jail. A few days later, Connor was found in the woods in Fountain County, just north of the Tippecanoe County line. At the time, Sheriff Rusty Hart told News 18 that Danny Horton, 45, who was wanted on drug charges in Warren County, had been assisting Connor since the escape. He was still on the run when Connor was found.

Horton was arrested Tuesday afternoon at Twyckenham Apartment Complex in Lafayette. Police said they received information that he was at a residence on Townsend Drive, but he fled to the apartments on Twyckenham.

He was wanted on warrants for parole violations, as well as warrants in Warren County for two meth-related charges. Horton was turned over to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

A search warrant was carried out at the Townsend Drive residence where a weapon was located.

Jennifer Ellison, 42, and Sierra Rossi, 19, face preliminary charges of assisting a criminal.

LPD detectives, officers, and the SWAT team, along with the U.S. Marshal Fugitive Apprehension Team and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, helped with the investigation.
