MONTICELLO, Ind. (WLFI) – A Monticello home was damaged by fire Thursday night.

Monticello assistant fire chief Robert Hickman said they were called to the fire on Terrace Bay Court after 9:30 p.m. When crews arrived on scene, the home was engulfed by flames. Idaville and Reynolds Fire Departments provided mutual aid at the scene.

Hickman said access to the home by tankers was difficult due to narrow roadways, but crews were able to ensure the fire didn’t spread to neighboring homes.

The cause of the fire is unknown. It is uncertain if anyone was inside when the fire started. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
