TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – A bridge on State Road 26 will be restricted to one lane this week for an inspection by the Indiana Department of Transportation.

INDOT’s consultant Earth Explorations will be inspecting the bridge over the South Fork of Wildcat Creek. The inspection is for a future project. Crews will be boring and drilling near the bridge and will have equipment on the bridge. The restrictions will be during the day.

INDOT Spokeswoman Debbie Calder said drivers should prepare for some delays.

“Some drivers will get delayed there just a little bit. Stopping traffic will be controlled with flagmen, so maybe allow an extra 5 or 10 minutes to get through that area,” said Calder.

The lane restrictions began Monday morning.

Calder said it will take crews about four days to complete the inspection. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
