INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana lawmakers are honoring the perseverance and commitment of slopestyle skier Nick Goepper.

Members of the Indiana House of Representatives praised Goepper on Monday while presenting the Lawrenceburg resident with a resolution honoring his performance during the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Goepper won the bronze medal in slopestyle skiing last month in Sochi, Russia. He spoke briefly about his time growing up in southeastern Indiana and how he learned to ski and snowboard.

Monday’s formal resolution marks the second time Indiana lawmakers have honored Goepper this year. They voted last month to exempt Goepper’s prize money and bronze medal from state taxes.
