TIPPECANOE CO., Ind. (WLFI) – Today marks one year since a Battle Ground eighth-grader took her own life. Angel Green’s family believes bullying is what led this 14 year old to commit suicide.

Angel’s mother Danielle Green has since gotten involved with several anti-bullying efforts. She said it’s been a difficult year for her, but assisting others helps her cope.

“I don’t even think that I realize that it has been a year, because every day I live like it was yesterday,” said Green. “That’s how it is. Every morning I wake up and I relive it. I put on my happy face and I try to get on with my day.”

An internal investigation by the Tippecanoe School Corporation found bullying was not the reason. More than five months after the incident, the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office had not released its investigation. Sheriff Tracy Brown said it will be released to News 18 Wednesday.

The Green family is having a memorial service Wednesday evening at the Faith West Community Center. It will begin a little after 5 p.m. and include memories from those who knew Angel as well as a video of her life. There will be a candle lighting ceremony held at 7 p.m.

News 18 will have more on our interview with Danielle Green on News 18 at Five, Six and 11.
