Carroll Co. barn fire kills goats

FLORA, Ind. (WLFI) – A barn fire in Carroll County has killed multiple goats.

The fire occurred in the 5000 block of County Road 100 North, near Flora. According to Flora Fire Chief Mike Cottrell, the barn was engulfed when crews arrived.

Cottrell said no humans were in the barn at the time of the fire, but some animals were inside. He said an adult goat and two baby goats have died.

Fire crews had the fire out within 20 minutes, but Cottrell said the barn is a total loss and damages include an ATV.

Assisting the Flora Fire Department on scene were crews from the Delphi Fire Department, the Cutler Township Fire Department and the Camden-Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department.
