LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – The Lafayette Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications to fill more than 200 seasonal positions for the upcoming summer season.
Director of Operations, Jon Miner, with the Lafayette Parks Department told News 18 in a press release that seasonal help is vital to the parks department.
“Our seasonal staff is vital to the success of the Parks Department,” said Miner. “Seasonal employees allow us to provide fun and safe services to the citizens of Lafayette.”
Park officials said there are over 100 positions available for summer camp counselors, zoo gift shop clerks, landscaping and mowing, aquatic management positions, Tropicanoe Cove concessions staff and guest relations associates.
The Parks Department is also looking to staff more than 70 certified lifeguard positions for Vinton Pool, Castaway Bay and Tropicanoe Cove. The starting rate of pay for City of Lafayette lifeguards was increased this year from $8.00 to $8.75.
