CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. (WLFI) – Residents of Montgomery County will soon be able to find out about emergencies in a new way.
The Montgomery County Emergency Management Agency is creating the Montgomery County Mass Notification System. Notifications range from tornado warnings to road closings.
Individuals that sign up can choose whether to be notified by phone or by e-mail.
More than 8,000 local homes and businesses have already been automatically enrolled by having numbers listed in the phone book.

In addition, the Montgomery County Emergency Management Agency is partnering with the National Weather Service for a Storm Spotter Training session.
The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25 at the Crawfordsville High School Auditorium. The session is free and includes lessons on cloud structure and severe weather radar images.
