WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Road conditions are slick and some may be hazardous throughout portions of the News 18 viewing area. Many counties have put a travel status into effect.

County Travel Status:

  • Benton – Advisory
  • Cass – Advisory
  • Fulton – Watch
  • Howard –  Advisory
  • Jasper – Watch
  • Newton – Advisory
  • Miami – Advisory
  • Pulaski – Watch
  • White – Watch

Advisory: The lowest level of travel advisory means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation. Individuals should use caution or avoid those areas.

Watch: A watch is ordered when travel conditions are threatening to the safety of the public. During watch status, only essential travel, such as to and from work or in emergency situations, is recommended.

Warning: The warning level is the highest advisory status. During a warning, it is recommended to refrain from travel. Travel may be restricted to emergency management workers only.
