Man escapes house fire in White County

REYNOLDS, Ind. (WLFI) – Emergency crews were called to a house fire in White County Wednesday morning.

According to the Reynolds Fire Department, crews were called out around 10:30 a.m. to a house fire at 320 Wayne Street in Reynolds, Ind.

Firefighters said when crews arrived, the house was engulfed.

Authorities confirm one man escaped the home. He was taken to IU White Memorial Hospital with smoke inhalation.

Firefighters said there were animals inside the home at the time of the incident. They said there is no word on the status of the dogs.

It took crews about two hours to put out the fire.

Reynolds Fire Department said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
