Bioanalytical Systems, Inc. celebrates 40 years

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A West Lafayette drug discovery company is celebrating 40 years of business.

Bioanalytical Systems, Inc. celebrated the anniversary during an annual shareholders meeting Thursday.

Company co-founder and Purdue professor Dr. Pete Kissinger was recognized for starting and growing the company.

BASi CEO Jackie Lemke said it is great to see the company reach the milestone.

“It’s really special. Considering the entrepreneural survivorship of startup companies is low, it’s really incredible to be here for 40 years,” said Lemke.

In 1974, the company started in the second bedroom of an apartment. Today, BASi has locations in West Lafayette and Evansville to help doctors discover better treatments and cures for various diseases. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
