Officers respond to shots fired in Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – The Lafayette Police Department responded to several reports of gunshots on the southeast side of the city Thursday afternoon.

Around 2:45 p.m., officers responded to the 2000 block of Kyverdale Drive, which is located near Veterans Memorial Parkway and S. 18th Street, after several neighbors reported that there were shots fired.

After investigating, officers discovered that the shots were fired in the area of 20 Regal Valley Court. Officers then made contact with Patrick Young, 40, who was a resident at the home. He was arrested without incident and faces a preliminary charge of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.

Nobody was injured during the incident.
