Gunshot wound sends one to hospital

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Police are looking for two to three people that witnesses said ran from a house where a man was shot late Thursday night.

Lafayette Police officers responded to the 2100 block of Hiawatha Lane just before 11:30 p.m. They found one victim with a single gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was transported to IU Health and later interviewed by an officer.

Witnesses said two to three black males fled north away from the residence.

“We set up a perimeter and had a K-9 track but we were not able to locate any suspects at this time,” said Lafayette Police Lt. Tim Payne.
