WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Gut instinct, a season’s worth of studying teams and stats, or just guesswork — there’s no science to predicting the outcomes of the NCAA tournament, but that doesn’t stop people from studying a little bracketology this month.

March Madness starts Tuesday and the Klondike branch of the Tippecanoe County Public Library hosted an event to help fans fill out their brackets.

Event participant Joe Sanchez said it was fun and he enjoyed getting to see people of all ages get involved in the process.

“It’s kind of neat to see the small children getting involved with this. That keeps it going really. Maybe one day these kids are going to be basketball stars and that will be the cool part about it,” said Sanchez.

As for his bracket, Sanchez said many people may be picking Florida to take home the title, but he’s not so sure. He thinks there are five or six teams that can upset the Gators. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
