LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Food Finders Food Bank is asking people to bring their best denim for their biggest fundraiser of the year.
Monday the food bank kicked off ticket sales for their second annual Blue Jean Ball. Last year, the ball raised more than $30,000 for the bank.
Executive Director Katy Bunder says that money funds a significant part of their budget.
“Only four percent of the food that we get comes from food drives, so a lot of the food involves a cost to us. We spend that money on transportation to get free food. We also spend that money on purchasing some food,” said Bunder.
This year Bison Financial Group, Beck’s Hybrid and Purdue University College of Agriculture have partnered together to sponsor the event
The ball will be May 3 at the Beck Agricultural Center.
