LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – This year’s harsh winter has delayed construction of a senior living community in Lafayette. The facility is being built where the old Home Hospital once stood.

A spokesperson with the project developer Mainstreet said it was originally set to open this October. Now, they expect a substantial amount of the project to be complete by December.

Design plans are for a 100-bed, $14 million investment. Officials said 70 beds are targeted for skilled nursing care patients and 30 for assisted living. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
