CAMDEN, Ind. (WLFI) – After 60 years, a historic scoreboard is leaving Camden and going to the Indiana High School Basketball Hall of Fame.

The Delphi Community School board voted to donate it at its March meeting.

Athletics Director Wes Allen said he wishes he could have taken the scoreboard home with him. However, he said he’s excited that it will be displayed with other historic scoreboards.

“It hasn’t worked for years. I’m really not exactly sure how all the lights on there operate. I know back in the day, when it was first built, it was a pretty neat thing to see,” said Allen.

The scoreboard was installed into Camden’s newly built gym in 1951. It will be taken down later this week and then shipped off.
