Logansport’s Jennings wins Miss Basketball

Whitney Jennings of Logansport

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Logansport Berry Whitney Jennings is 2013-2014 IndyStar Miss Basketball.

It’s an honor well-earned by the 5-foot-5 Iowa bound point guard. Over the course of her senior season Jennings averaged 32 points per game, as well as eight rebounds, 7.4 assists, and five steals per game. Logansport (24-3) reached the Class 4A semi-state before falling to Penn in a tight one.

Jennings says winning Miss Basketball is a dream come true.

“When I found out, I started crying,” Jennings said. “It was a surreal moment, because it’s something I had dreamed about since I was little.”

The future Iowa Hawkeye says it’s even more of an honor considering the level of competition in the state.

“I feel extremely blessed to have won this award, considering all the great talent there is in the state of Indiana. I’m honored to get to wear that No. 1 jersey and represent Indiana.”
