Arrest made in Darlington bank robbery

MONTGOMERY CO., Ind. (WLFI) – One person has been arrested in connection with three bank robberies, one of which was last week’s robbery in Darlington, Ind.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said Alan McCormick, 46, of Zionsville, Ind. has been arrested on preliminary charges of armed robbery. Montgomery County Sheriff Mark Casteel said the robberies took place at three separate banks dating back to August 2013.

The Hoosier Heartland State Bank was robbed twice. The first incident occurred at the Ladoga, Ind. location on Aug. 12, 2013, and the second at the Linden, Ind. location on Jan. 16, 2014. The third robbery happened Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at the Fountain Trust Bank in Darlington.

Casteel said additional charges are possible in Morgan and Clay Counties in regards to bank robberies that occurred in Eminence, Ind. and Poland, Ind.
