Miami Co. traffic stop leads to drug arrest

MIAMI CO., Ind. (WLFI) – An out of state woman is arrested on preliminary drug charges after a traffic stop in Miami County.

Indiana State Police said they stopped Julie Watson, 51, of Kentucky for speeding on U.S. 31 Thursday morning. They said the trooper smelled marijuana while talking to Watson.

Upon searching the car, troopers said they found 80 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and more than $600.

Watson was arrested and taken to the Miami County Jail.

She faces felony charges for possession of marijuana and dealing marijuana, and a misdemeanor charge for possession of drug paraphernalia.
