BATTLE GROUND, Ind. (WLFI) – Firefighters respond to a grass fire near a Battle Ground home Friday afternoon.

Battle Ground firefighters said the fire burned about two acres. They said a man was burning newspapers away from his home on East 800 North with a garden hose handy. But the fire got out of control, and Battle Ground and Wabash Township fire crews were called in to contain it.
