TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – East Tipp Middle School raises more than $11,000 for cancer research and sends some teachers and students home with pie in their face.
More than 500 students and teachers cheered on at Friday’s pie slinging. The event was part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Pennies for Patients fundraiser.
The school raised the money in three weeks, which included raising about $3,000 in the last two days.
East Tipp Middle School is one of hundreds of schools to participate in Pennies for Patients, which raises more than $600,000 annually.
