Kids celebrating Boys and Girls Club Week

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – It is Boys and Girls Club Week across the country and children in Lafayette are celebrating.

Throughout the week the Boys and Girls Club club will be offering activities such as roller skating, tye-dying T-shirts and an attempt to break a world record.

Program director Christie Fader said this year’s Boys and Girls Club Week is earlier than usual and happens to fall on spring break for some area schools.

“Normally this would be the first week of April, but it’s a week earlier this year. So, it’s spring break and it works out perfectly because we can do special things throughout the day, said Fader. “Boys and Girls Club Week is a really fun week to showcase kind of the things that we do.”

On Friday, clubs nationwide will attempt to break the Guiness record for most clubs to simultaneously do a fitness video. Last year, the club helped break the record for the most simultaneous games of tag. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
