LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A new business offers an easier and greener way to commute around Greater Lafayette.

Uncle Adam’s Uphill Bikes opened for business last week. The store sells electronic bikes that you can pedal or cruise in.

The bikes come in 25 different models, run on a lithium battery and can be folded up to fit into your car.

Store owner Adam Hanabarger said his store is the only place in the state that sells these bikes.

“They have the best components. They’re the most rigid. They’re really powerful. They’re completely silent. The company is great. The owners of Prodecotech are amazing people. I have known them for years,” said Hanabarger.

The bike’s battery takes about two and a half hours to charge and can last anywhere between 15 to 50 miles.

Pricing for the bikes can run anywhere from $1,000 to $5,000. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
