Unique slumber party will get children’s imaginations going

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Let your children’s imaginations run wild when they leave their stuffed animals at the Tippecanoe County Public Library’s stuffed animal slumber party.

On Friday, March 28, kids are invited to TCPL to drop-off stuffed animals for the sleepover. Before parting with the toys, kids will be treated to a story time at 2 p.m. with animals from Pet Supplies Plus.

TCPL youth librarian Mynda Cruz said the inspiration for the event came from a book.

“A lot of people talk about who sleeps at the library…there are stories and stuff about libraries who really do have slumber parties, so we thought we’d do it with animals, and maybe we can control them a little better,” said Cruz.

Cruz also advised parents to not bring a stuffed animal that the child is extremely attached to, because he or she will be without it for the night. Children will get the stuffed animal back on Saturday, along with photos of all the “adventures” the toys got into while they were together for the night.

The event is free and open to the public.
