Early hour house fire causes minor damage


TIPPECANOE CO., Ind. (WLFI) – Two people awoke to the smell of smoke in their home north of Battle Ground in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

According to Battle Ground Volunteer Fire Department Public Information Officer Steve Baker, both individuals got out of the house at 2961 E. 900 North with their dog and called Battle Ground Fire Department at about 12:45 a.m. Brookston Fire was later called to provide mutual aid to the fire.

Baker estimated about $5,000 worth of damage was done to the inside of the home.
